OPEN CALL: Selby Light 2026

⭐️Open Call for Expressions of Interest: Selby Light, 2026⭐️

Exciting things are happening in Selby. Following the success of Selby Light 2025, in partnership with NowThen!, the Arts Council funded place based programme, we’re now accepting expressions of interest for the creation of a new, large-scale, interactive light artwork, to be realised in late February 2026.

We’re looking to work with an artist who will create something which is provocative and encourages reflection, with strong elements of interactivity – we want the audience to feel involved as well as spectating.

The piece should be inspired by Selby, its people and stories, with the participation and co-creation of local groups and residents.

Fee
The artist fee for this commission is £20,000, which will include all fees, studio time, travel and expenses.
There is a separate technical realisation budget for equipment, installation, tech staffing.
