York Mediale welcomes four new additions to the team

We’re delighted to welcome four new additions to Team Mediale; Siân, Kate, Dan and Elijah.

Siân

Siân returns to York Mediale as the new International Projects Manager. In 2018, she worked on our epic music programme, producing events with artists such as Suzanne Ciani, Kamaal Williams and Laura Cannell. Siân has experience across live arts events, music and broadcasting, having worked for organisations including Manchester International Festival and the BBC. As International Project Manager, Siân is working on developing the festival’s international reach and touring productions, with particular focus on the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. We are excited to have her back on the team.

Kate

Kate joins the team as our Curatorial Producer. With 15 years experience delivering critically acclaimed, multi faceted projects including large-scale exhibitions in collaboration with the V&A Museum, BAFTA & The Lowry, dance productions with the likes of Akram Khan and immersive, performative installations for Manchester International Festival, Kate is an incredible asset to the team. She is working on developing a number of international commissions over the coming months; watch this space!

Dan

With over twenty years experience of working in media and the arts, Dan has recently come to York Mediale from Sheffield Doc/Fest where he was the Curator of  ‘Alternate Realities’. He has developed partnership and sponsorship programmes with Arts Council England, The British Council, BBC R&D, HTC, Oculus, Google, Immerse UK, MUTEK, Phi Centre, FOST, We are Unlimited, Pro Helvetia and RYOT/Verizon. Dan is focussing on developing partnerships for York Mediale.

Elijah

Elijah joins us this year in an expanded role as a Creative Producer on our live programmes. He will be focussing on developing unique and high profile projects and collaborations. He is co-founder of influential grime label Butterz, home to artists Swindle, Royal-T, DJ Q and Flava D.. Elijah was Associate Artistic Director at Lighthouse, the highly respected cultural centre in Brighton during 2017 and 18. His work spans music production, programming, journalism, a&r and artist management, and shines a light on the artistic, social and economic challenges and opportunities for emerging artists.

Elijah programmed many people’s favourite event in the first York Mediale, our opening at Theatre Royal, with Just Jam, Kamaal Williams and Moses Boyd.

With a phenomenal team behind the festival, this is an incredibly exciting time for York Mediale and we can’t wait for you to see what we have up our sleeves.
