Amahra Spence is an artist and organiser, based in Birmingham UK, who works with space, performance, design and systems as creative mediums. In 2013, she founded MAIA, an arts and social justice organisation who envision a world towards liberation, where artists are resourced and mobilised to reimagine its possibilities. With a mission to grow capacity for collective worldbuilding, MAIA create culturally transformative prototypes to rehearse alternative paradigms, rooted in Black imagination, more-than-human accountabilities and life-affirming infrastructures.
